After the Euro 2012 finals this weekend, sports-wise all heads naturally turn to the much anticipated 2012 London Olympics. While between July 27th and August 12th we will all be busy cheering for our national teams and athletes, it is also worth noting why the 2012 Olympics turn heads architecture- and infrastructure-wise. The London Olympics have helped jumpstart redevelopment in the city. They have also notably laid out an ambitious plan to create a long-term legacy of the Games by addressing the issue of what what becomes of all promotinal architecture and urban designs created for the Games after the frenzy of the Olympics dies down.
