You You International
You You International Sheraton Hotel & Residences Office tower and Retail Mall Design Intent Our design for the You You International multi use development seeks to create a new and vibrant array of buildings with various programs in the Pudong area of Shanghai. The notion was to make a triptich of towers, familial yet distinct. Each tower has a common serrated skin and curvilinear triangular form but each is distinguishable through the requirements of program and this is represented in the size of the floor plate as well as the skin of the type. This complex covering two large city blocks and consisting of three high rise towers and two million square feet will manifest a dramatic skyline marking a new destination in the city. The hotel block is organized around a central courtyard accessible to the public. This idea is echoed in section over the three towers and defined by sky gardens of multi level heights and soaring atria establishing public areas of respite and amenity along three axes thus responding to the intensity, density and vigor of Shanghai. The retail Galleria is a unique shopping experience in an elegant and structurally dramatic space for local and tourist visitors alike. Basic Functions Based on New Design Program and pre-design studies, locations for basic functions are: N1 – Hotel, Service Apt. plus Convention center and Leisure Facilities. N2 – Office, Commercial and Retail Mall N1 Site
