When the design of the house was initiated, there was no specific site in the Quinto region, Ecuador, which it had to occupy. Thus, the architects decided to define their own rules in order to create an adjustable to different environments and very flexible dwelling that in the same time possessed its own character. Consequently, the main concept of the open ended box with the eastern and western ranges of the Andes acting as spatial limits on both ends emerged. The idea of incorporating a patio in the composition created a clear centre and main unifying element in the plan.…...
