Vikram Hospital

ZZ Architects, one of India’s leading contemporary Architecture and Interior Design firm has designed the hospital which fulfills all the requirements of a modern, contemporary and multi specialty hospital. Vikram Hospital, located in Bengaluru, India, is designed to be among the few truly paperless hospitals in India. This 285-bed hospital is spread over 8 floors and an area of approx. 1,50,000 sq ft.
The hospital was designed with the theme which was inspired by the ECG HEARTLINE GRAPH and so called “HEART BEATS THAT CONNECTS”. In the clutter of high rise buildings of Bengaluru city, the façade of hospital is designed to catch one’s attention even from a distance. The concept for the signage was to merge it with the building elevations. Hence, a visually strong graphic of a heartbeat pattern is printed on glass demarcating the building as a medical facility. This dramatic signage is enhanced with a digital water curtain at the base of the building. At the ground level, a vertical garden is integrated with the compound wall.
In a city like Bengaluru where buildings struggle to enjoy the breeze and streaks of sunlight, Vikram hospital is an exception. The architectural design of the hospital revolves around the theme of “Natural Healing”.  The hospital is designed in such a way that natural light is available in maximum area wherever possible. Emphasis is given on creating green walls and plantation in the surroundings. A Rain water harvesting system ensures that the precious rainwater is utilized in the most efficient manner. Correct type of glass is used to reduce heat and glare within the hospital thus reducing the need for cooling devices during summers.
