Tower Buildings, Liverpool, England designed by Walter Aubrey Thomas built in 1908, it is one of the earliest steel frame buildings in the United Kingdom. The site of Tower Buildings was the location of 'Liverpool Tower', the ancient home of the Stanley family who would later become Earls of Derby. The facade of the Building features White Glazed Bricks manufactured by Royal Doulton. The glazed tiles were designed to keep the grime of city life off the Building, effectively "self cleaning" whenever it rains.
