St Paul's Academy

St Paul’s Academy is the first Academy in the London Borough of Greenwich. The new Academy specialises in Sports and Enterprise and has improved sports facilities and a new resource for the local community. The building is arranged around a central covered courtyard of six learning areas, which maximises the available site area for sport pitches. To the northern side of the building are the more public functions of the Academy and to the southern side are private learning areas with classrooms. The dynamic form of the building is emphasised by oversailing roofs and large, well proportioned windows. The building is predominantly naturally ventilated and uses thermal mass and night-time cooling to reduce heat within the building.
