The design titled ”Lowly Worm” won an architectural competition for the Saunalahti children's house. True to its name, the house worms its way in rocky terrain in Espoo. The building was designed by JMMK Architects and finished in June 2011. It has two storeys and houses as kindergarten as well as children's health centre, protected from the street by a wavy, masoned facade. The facade facing the yard is wooden. Between the Kummelivuori hill and the house there is a sheltered play area. Inside, upper windows in the shape of cones let light filter into the connecting lobbies. The graphic artist Aimo Katajamäki has created splendid wall paintings for the children.
