Sitting along Somerset Road, the Pan Pacific Serviced Suite building is the 16-storey flagship property for the Pan Pacific Hospitality Pte Ltd. It offers a total of 120 luxury serviced suites and 6 penthouses that cater specifically to overseas professionals for extended stays. Each serviced suite is designed as office cum service apartment that facilitates the evolving work-live-play lifestyle. The site is located next to Somerset MRT Station, and within 5 min walking radius to existing shopping and entertainment hubs of Orchard Road. More interestingly, URA had embarked on a plan to decking the Stamford Canal behind the project site, transforming it into a sheltered ‘Discovery Walk’, a new hotbed of fashion and entertainment, attracting global trendsetters to the area. Pan Pacific Serviced Suite will certainly add to the buzz of the Discovery Walk. Meticulously Crafted ‘Skin’ Given the high visibility and vibrancy of the site, the design intention is to create a building that will become an icon of urban cool, immediately visible from the busy shopping street. A meticulously crafted building skin becomes the main icon/fashion statement that wraps and sculpts the tower, creating a new impressionable expression in building envelope design, enriching the Orchard/Somerset Road skyline. Let there be Light If the façade looks stately in the day, it really comes alive at night. The advancement of LED lighting technology brought new, endless possibilities. However, in the façade lighting of Pan Pacific Serviced Suites building, the LED lights are used in a restrained and subdued manner, limiting the colour palettes at any given time. Exuding a tranquil moonlight glow, the colour palettes changes very slowly, creating a cool and somewhat mysterious mood. Sky Lounge Guests are greeted in the cozy reception at ground level, and ushered to the Sky Lounge at 11th Storey. Taking advantage of its location in the midst of Singapore’s urban bustle, the Sky Lounge serves as check-in lobby as well as an urban living room with a view to the city. Here, one can lounge and indulge in book-magazines and online libraries, enjoying view of the busy Orchard Road street scene, yet at the same time the tranquility to watch it with a detached respite. Urban Retreat A boutique hot- and cold-bath and Turkish bath spa and health club offers therapeutic retreat from the rigors of urban living. Fitness classes and gym are the health staples of the new urbanites, while a boutique spa adds to the indulgence of retreat. The urban bustle can be watched from a distance over a cocktail in the sleek, fiber-optics starlit lap pool. Green Lounges in the Sky Green gardens are brought vertically up into the tower block. While softening the living spaces on the upper floors, these gardens also become lounges where residents can hang out and entertain guests. Private parties with a full view of Orchard Road’s city lights under the stars and the trees form a unique Singaporean urbanite experience.
