Pollards Hill Library
The proposed design for this project is focused on satisfying a number of issues and Client requirements which were identified as significant for promoting more community use and creating a new visual status on the streetscape. The design for the new extended library offers an opportunity for addressing the problems associated with the entrance located at the side. Firstly, by locating a new main entrance at the front brings the building directly in to contact with the community. The design proposed here embraces the sense of open space. The Brief called for the provision of book shelving to be not more than1500mm high so as to allow visual penetration over the whole of the internal space.
