The Context The City of Peterborough is located one and a half hours outside Toronto, Ontario, Canada in the Kawartha Region. Characterized by rolling hills, lakes and marshland, communities within the Kawarthas grew around crossroads or corners. Today, many communities still bear names such as Fowlers Corners, Precious Corners and Mathers Corners. The City of Peterborough evolved from one such crossroads.
