Needle of Rijswijk

The Needle of Rijswijk (Dutch: Naald van Rijswijk) is an obelisk that commemorates the Treaty of Rijswijk (September 1697) in Rijswijk, Netherlands.

The monument is built at the location of the former palace Huis ter Nieuwburg. In this building the peace treaty was signed. The obelisk was built during the years 1792–1794, out of building materials of Huis ter Nieuwburg. The palace was demolished in 1790 due to continued neglect of the building.
