The completed patient ward fits in well with its surroundings.
Meilahti temporary patient wardEdit profile
Originally designed by Architect Group Reino Koivula, Inc., Meilahti Hospital has reached an age where renovations are in order, and so, patients had to be temporarily relocated. The temporary patient ward is delicately balanced on pillars on bedrock. It pays tribute to the surrounding pinewoods and the composition of the ‘Patient Tower’s glass façade. Each room has a floor to ceiling view of the nearby park.
The building was designed by Architect Group Reino Koivula, Inc. and it was finished in the spring of 2011 and is now fully operational.
