Liverpool Empire Theatre
Liverpool Empire Theatre is located on Lime Street in Liverpool, England. It is the largest theatre in Liverpool, and the largest two-tier theatre in Britain. It is part of the William Brown Street conservation area. It was designed by W. and T. R. Milburn and opened on 9 March 1925 and was built by Moss Empires on the site of the Royal Alexandra Theatre and Opera House, the former New Prince of Wales Theatre and Opera House. The theatre seats a total of 2,381 audience members and puts on approximately 80 shows a year. It is used as a touring venue by Welsh National Opera. In April 1979 Merseyside County Council bought the theatre from Moss Empires, who spent £680,000 on works in the next two years. It is managed by Clear Channel Entertainment (now Live Nation) and in recent years has undergone a £10.5 million regeneration. In 2007, the theatre hosted the annual Royal Variety Performance, with Paul Potts, the winning contestant of Britain's Got Talent performing " Nessun Dorma". In 2009, Most Haunted conducted various ghost vigils in the Theatre live on Living Channel.

Education and Community Department
In 2007 the Liverpool Empire Theatre's Education and Community department ran a project called Stage Experience which is sponsored by ATG and is adopted by many ATG owned theatres. The idea is to give young performers a chance to appear on a stage in a full-scale musical. Due to the success of their first Stage Experience, Summer Holiday, they went on to stage The Wiz in 2008 and, in August 2009, performed the hit musical Bugsy Malone. In 2010 they performed Fame The Musical and received another standing ovation. Their fifth project will be West Side Story performing in August 2011. In November 2010, the theatres Performing Arts Club's ran of an evening was given the news that in February 2011 they will be performing 'Billy Elliot' on the Empire stage as part of the 'Billy Youth Theatre' project. This will be the first time that all the empire's performing arts clubs have worked together. The project could lead to the young performers performing at a gala performance at Billy's home on the West End. Tickets on sale 10/12/2010
