Les Mercuriales
Les Mercuriales are twins towers in Bagnolet, along the Boulevard Peripherique, in Paris, France. They were built in 1975, and are named Levant (Eastern) and Ponant (Western). These towers were part of a larger project business district of eastern Paris designed to rebalance the western district La Defense. This project was interrupted by the first oil crisis, leaving the isolated towers on the A3 motorway interchange. The architecture of the tower is inspired by the twin towers of World Trade Center in New York. Besides the antennas, they are the third highest tower Seine-Saint-Denis behind Tour Pleyel (143m) and behind the Tour La Villette (125ms). Including antennas, West Tower is the highest in the department with a satellite peak at about 175m and the East Tower is the second highest with 141m.

  • The two towers are built on a foundation consisting of common equipment rooms and loading docks, accessible to tractor trailers.
  • Contrary to the principle adopted for the towers in New York, each Mercuriale Tower is composed of a reinforced concrete core spinning which includes elevators, freight elevators, escalators and vertical circulation of fluids. The central core of elevators on each floor is insulated trays by fire doors close automatically. This kernel supports the floor slabs, supported by posts on the periphery.
  • The withdrawal of posts from the edge of the plates has allowed a continuous façade skin, stiffened with metal studs. The exterior curtain wall with no supporting role allows maximum natural lighting trays. It also reduces the visual mass of towers and provides a more fluid design, accentuated by their isolated settlement in a residential area of low height.
  • The partitioning of offices is completely modular and each tray can change the number of offices closed tobullpen Complete.
  • The batteries are broken elevator for each tower in two groups of six. Each group is serving the first 16 levels or the next 15. Each battery also includes an outdoor loading dock connects the basement to all floors.
  • The 30th floor (31st real) is the top floor of offices, the top two floors consist of local storage, the air conditioning systems and broadcasting equipment.
  • A central mall covered distributes the public on the two towers and dessert in addition to common services (canteen, security)

At the top of the towers are two antennas. One is administered by TDF (TSF 89.9; Aligre FM / Radio Beur FM and country) and the other by TowerCast (FM Teen, Latina, Neo, Here & Now, FG, Generations / Paris Jazz Radio Libertaire Live FM Radio Campus Paris). It found a total of 10 issuers of 4 kW BY). These transmitters create a corridor of interference causing parasites to 40 000 households.
