Laverton is a railway station in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, located in the suburb of Laverton, on the Werribee railway line. Laverton is classed as a Premium station and is in Metcard Zones 1+ 2 overlap. Laverton is a terminus for some morning services to Werribee.

Facilities
Laverton is located between Railway Avenue and Maher Road, with station access from both via a footbridge at the Werribee end of the station. Access to the footbridge from ground (street) level as well as to the platforms is available via stairs and elevator. The station consists of three platforms in an island format, with a large brick building at the Werribee end of the station. The building houses an enclosed waiting area, ticket counter and toilets. A small Metcard vending machine is located inside the waiting room, which is able to dispense most ticketing options available and accepts coins only. A large Metcard vending machine and a myki recharge machine (both accepting notes, coins and EFTPOS) are also situated at the Werribee end of Platform 1. There are 2 Metcard ticket validators and 2 myki fare payment devices at the Werribee end of Platform 1, as well as 4 Metcard validators and 4 myki fare payment devices located inside the waiting area on the island platform. At the Melbourne end of the station the tracks diverge, with suburban trains usually taking the single track route via Altona, while Geelong and Warrnambool line trains, as well as some express Flinders Street trains take the double track route via Galvin and Paisley. A rail siding that was located adjacent to the station has been removed, as part of the works described below. The Western standard gauge line is to the west of the station, and is used by interstate freight trains, and The Overland passenger service from Melbourne to Adelaide.

History
Laverton station opened on July 1, 1886. It was upgraded to a Premium Station in 1998. On May 6, 2008, the Government of Victoria announced as part of the 2008- 2009 state budget that Laverton station would receive a $92.6 million upgrade which will include a new third platform along with triplicating one kilometre of existing double track between the junction to the Altona line and the station. The first span of the footbridge was lifted into place in October 2009, the completed bridge being opened to public access on February 9, 2010.
