Lantern TowerEdit profile
The Tianhe Mansion Tower is designed as a landmark building for the Guan Yin Qaio district. The super high-rise tower comprises 66 storeys and is 312 metres in height.
The concept for the tower evolved from the historical pole housing structures or 'diaojiao', perched over terraced landscapes.
Surrounded on all sides by existing properties, the tower is located in a green pocekt of parkland in the city. Circular in plan and designed to be viewed in the round, the core offset assists with natural daylight penetration.
The podium is seen as an extension of the parkland and is shrouded in a canopy of foliage, while the external envelope of the main tower is a combination of skin and structure.
Portions of this system are operable, providing natural ventilation and air supply to the mechanical system. Pocket sky gardens appear across the facade, throughout the entirety of the building.
As with the base, the pole structure continues beyond the top of the tower, forming a delicate crown.
