La Tour Daikanyama is an apartment house, which located only a 10 minute walk from Shibuya, Tokyo. Although Shibuya is a town constantly flooded with people, a site of this apartment is in a quiet and calm residential area, where provided luxurious residences for foreign nationals residing previously.
The apartment for this superb location must be a ‘premium residence’, in the true sense of the term. Then, what provides a touch of class to be called ‘premium’ in Japan? The thoughts lead us to a sense of beauty what inherit the Japanese tradition.
This project is attentively designed based on a sense of Japanese Beauty and tried to create a place filled with an atmosphere named “Kanga”, means that “filled with a serenity and refined Japanese aesthetics” in Japanese. Trimming down the decoration, and keeping the natural aesthetics of materials itself by using as it is. The compositional elegance derived from the intentional use of asymmetry. The silent tension built up from the orderly sequence of parts. This design also expresses the taste of Japan by assembling subtle transformation of colors without using explicit features.
And also, it was designed as harmonized with a nature around this apartment. It has only 8 stories, B2F for parking, from B1F to 6F are for residences. 10 flats are located to surround a beautiful court, composed of stones and trees. As almost every room has a terrace which faces to a court, residents can enjoy a view and feel the rhythm of the seasons.
This project will create a quality residential space, harmonizing tranquility and serenity of Japanese philosophy of art.
