Hoppers Crossing is a railway station in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, located in the suburb of Hoppers Crossing, on the Werribee railway line. Classed as a Host station, it is in Metcard Zone 2.

Facilities

Hoppers Crossing is located at the eastern end of the Old Geelong Road level crossing, which provides access to the station.

The station consists of two platforms, in an island format, with a large brick building at the Werribee end of the station. A large Metcard ticket vending machine is located at the entrance to the platforms, which is able to dispense most ticketing options available and also accept notes and coins. A small coin-only Metcard ticket vending is also located at the entrance. Hoppers Crossing Station also has the facilities for Myki there are four touch on/ touch off bases and a Myki machine for refilling cards.

The Western standard gauge line is to the west of the station, and is used by interstate freight trains, and The Overland passenger service from Melbourne to Adelaide.

History

Hoppers Crossing station opened on 16 November 1970, at the Werribee end of the level crossing. It relocated at the Flinders Street end of the level crossing in 1983.
