To combine the sacred and the profane was a deliberate choice indispensable to this huge complex comprising apartments, offices and shops, covered with metal, hugging the spherical church (20 m in diameter) decked in pink granite. The passer-by must seek out the church, which is a bit hidden and seems to float on the water surrounding it. Completed in 1993, two distinctive parts compose its interior. A chapel on the ground floor gives way to the church itself and the galleries by means of a “floating” staircase.
