Cork University Hospital

Cork University Hospital (CUH) is the largest university teaching hospital in Ireland and is the only Level 1 Trauma centre in the country due to the presence of over 40 different medical and surgical specialties on the campus. It is operated by the Health Service Executive. CUH is located in Wilton, Cork City Centre. CUH officially opened in November 1978 and celebrated its 30th Anniversary in 2008. The hospital primarily treats patients from Cork and Kerry, serving a combined population of more than 620,000. CUH is also a tertiary referral centre for Munster; serving a population of more than 1,173,000.
