A redundant 4-storey office building has beenconverted into a 6 storey affordable housing development for Shepherds Bush Housing Association. Two steel frame storeys have been added to the original concrete frame building. In total the scheme consists of 69 shared-ownership flats, including two wheelchair units on the ground floor. The existing façade has been re-clad with horizontal Western Red Cedar boards, insulated render (white and grey) and dark grey aluminium/timber composite windows. Existing window openings have been visually combined, either vertically or horizontally, with insulated, coloured aluminium panels in between. The development was completed in June 2006 and cost approx. £4.3 million.
