Cedarbrae Mall is a shopping mall in the Scarborough area of Toronto, Canada, at the corner of Markham Road and Lawrence Avenue. The mall opened in the early 1960s.Notable tenants
When Cedarbrae Mall opened in 1962, it was built as a outdoor strip mall, and one of the earlier types built in the Toronto area. It had stores such as Simpson's department store, a bowling alley, and Dominion. Several stores later closed, including Loblaws, and the bowling alley. Current tenants include Zellers, No Frills, Stitches, Sirens, Bentley, McDonald's, Kentucky Fried Chicken, Taco Bell, Tim Hortons, Toys R Us, Gamestop, and Canadian Tire.
In 1972 the first expansion was done, turning it into an enclosed mall.Ownership
In August 1996, the mall was acquired by the Centrefund Realty Corporation. At the time of purchase, Centrefund announced it would begin expansion and renovation with a total redevelopment budget of approximately CDN$20 million. The Canadian portion of Centrefund changed its named to First Capital Corporation in 2001.
The shopping centre is managed by FCR Management Services LP; the Property Management division of First Capital Realty Corporation. The manager is J.R. Holmes RPA.
