Catford High School

The new school replaces the existing secondary school on the same site in a series of phases so that the operation of the school is maintained throughout the construction period. Careful design consideration of the new school, together with a greatly reduced phasing strategy, led to an innovative and affordable, all new-build, solution being offered under a PFI Contract. This solution offered many advantages in the layout and operation of the new school, in particular the site has a 1 in 15 fall across its length which the all new-build solution was able to address to provide level access to all parts of the school thus providing a fully inclusive solution.
