CAFOD Building
The new headquarters for the Catholic Agency for Overseas Development is situated on a car park site adjoining Pugin's listed St George's Cathedral in Southwark. The new building reflects CAFOD's charitable status and its core values of social justice and “live simply” philosophy. The efficient and sustainable building design minimises its impact upon the environment and encourages the movement and integration of staff. The building will achieve a BREEAM Excellent rating by incorporating ground source heating and cooling, chilled slabs, passive stack ventilation, exposed thermal mass, night-time heat purging and photovoltaic atrium shading.
