Burroughes Building
The Burroughes Building was built in Toronto in 1907 with an addition in 1910, as the flagship department store for the F.C. Burroughes Furniture Company Limited. A brand established in 1887. The Burroughes Building has been defining Queen Street West as the tallest building on this trendy stretch. The property has been expertly renovated to carefully preserve its priceless character features. With restored elevators, wood details, exposed brick the property is like no other in the city. Described as a hidden gem by the real estate investment community, while taste makers simply comment that only those who should know, know about the property. The Burroughes was not always known as such. After much thoughtful research and consideration did what we celebrate today become a recognized brand. Only until recently after, Queen Street Partners purchased and repositioned the property did the name emerge. Queen Street Partners, (a private equity firm) has an established track record of deploying investor capital into neighborhoods and brands before they are broadly recognized. The National Post stated that Queen Street Partners repositioned The Burroughes Building by bringing "gentrification and spreading it... affecting more than just retail space."

The Burroughes Building is located at 639 Queen Street West, Toronto, Ontario Canada M5V 2B5

Once home to the F.C. Burroughes Furniture Company Limited. the property is now populated with tastemakers and influencers. The original painted wall mural has been preserved by the 1910 addition to the east side of the property. http://network.nationalpost.com/NP/blogs/toronto/archive/2009/01/24/t-o-a-to-z-bringing-new-life-into-old-spaces.aspx
