The new building is located in a densely populated residential area of Locarno, with a view over the city, lake and mountains. The design responds to the everyday topic of building in the urban chaos with certain reserve. Therefore the use of classic attributes of a house were immediately waived off.
Only two simply cut, displaced stone cubes work against the background of the mountain - fragmentarily - belonging more to the landscape than to the dwellnh - more a wall than a house - thus remaining deprived of any temporal assignment.
The interior living spaces are fomed following the principle of erosion. Two similar openings, closed by large wooden gates, offering residents both entrance to the house and a view out. Additional light penetrates through the innerside courtyards. The water pool on the low side of the cube is connected with the lake.
