The extension creates a new foyer for the academy and diverse cultural activities and events taking place in the existing muli-purpose hall. In this attempt to create a new atmosphere the design follows a strategy of a "viscous" affiliation. Generated through a simulation of viscosity it blends with the existing building geometry yet develops its very own presence. The proposal establishes a consistent and smooth transition from the exterior to the interior space. The new roof structure extends into the foyer and creates an intuitivesly understandable guidance system and a new functional zoning. The innovative construction method references the competencies and teaching focus of the Building Academy in the field of concrete application.
