72 Fore Street

Project Telex, at 72 Fore Street, is a planned 13 storey office building which has planning permission for construction at Moorgate in the City of London.  As of 2011 the construction cost is estimated as around £75M.  The building steps back in a series of terraces from the Seventh floor and above, providing balcony and green roofs to the building.  The proposed building also features large V-shaped columns between the ground and second stories.

The proposed building is situated entirely within the site of the existing Fore Street Telephone Exchange, a six-storey 1950's concrete which has been disused for a number of years and planned for demolition.  The site was originally owned by Telereal and has recently been sold to Telex S. a R. L., an MGPA company.

The design team for the new building includes HKR architects, Pringle Brandon Drew architects, Ramboll providing structural and geotechnical engineering, Hilson Moran providing services engineering and Arup providing transport consultation.

As of August 2011, demolition of the existing building is planned for late-2011 through to early-2012.  Completion of the proposed building is estimated to be in 2013.
