4 Mastmaker Road

The development by Ballymore Group at 4 Mastmaker Road is an exemplar residential scheme which provides a high quality living environment. The development is situated within the heart of the Isle of Dogs in an Opportunity Area as identified in the London Plan. The scheme designed by Brady Mallalieu Architects delivers a high density and innovative residential development which integrates with its surrounding context whilst maximising densities and providing for a mixed use community with a focus on delivering sustainable family housing on this 0.6 hectare site. The mixed tenure development comprises 199 dwellings: 142 are affordable dwellings including 62 three and four bedroom homes within 7 linked buildings of between 3 and 23 storeys situated around communal open space and gardens. The scheme includes a centrally located community facility and café. The first phase of the development has been completed and was occupied in August 2009 and the remaining units and public realm was completed in late November 2009.
